JOHOR BAHRU 31 Mei - Universiti Teknologi Malaysia (UTM) akan memberi bantuan dari segi kepakaran untuk membangunkan Masjid Kolam Ayer yang berkonsepkan bangunan hijau pertama di negara ini.
Naib Canselornya, Prof. Datuk Ir. Dr. Zaini Ujang berkata, pihaknya akan bekerjasama dengan syarikat hartanah, Mudra Tropika Sdn. Bhd. (Mudra Tropika) dan pemaju, Dynac Sdn. Bhd. bagi membina masjid yang bernilai RM9 juta itu.
Beliau berkata, kerjasama tersebut akan meneroka satu usaha bersepadu dalam aspek seni bina bangunan hijau, perancangan dan perumahan lestari, pengurusan tenaga yang cekap, kesan karbon dan pelbagai bidang lain.
"Pihak universiti menerusi Institut Sultan Iskandar (ISI) untuk Habitat Perbandaran dan Bangunan Tinggi, iaitu syarikat berdaftar UTM yang menawarkan khidmat penyelidikan dan perundingan akan membantu dari segi kepakaran bagi membangunkan Masjid Kolam Ayer.
"Usaha ini juga adalah sebagai menyahut seruan kerajaan membudayakan kelestarian dan teknologi hijau dalam pembangunan. Untuk kerjasama kali ini tenaga pakar dari UTM akan membantu mengenal pasti reka bentuk bangunan, persekitaran serta landskap yang mampu membentuk persekitaran selesa yang mengambil kira aspek kesejahteraan alam sekitar," katanya.
Beliau berkata demikian selepas majlis menandatangani memorandum Persefahaman (MoU) antara UTM dengan Mudra Tropika yang diwakili Pengerusinya, Datuk Mohd. Rashidi Md. Noor serta Dynac Sdn. Bhd. yang diwakili Pengerusinya, Datuk Mohd. Naim Nasir di sini semalam.
Masjid di Jalan Kolam Ayer-Nong Chik akan dibina menggunakan teknologi baru iaitu Building Integrated Photovoltaics yang mana sistem inovatif pada bangunan akan menghasilkan elektrik melalui tenaga solar pada panel penyerapan cahaya yang diletakkan pada bumbung bangunan.
Bangunan tiga tingkat itu mampu memuatkan 2,000 jemaah dalam satu masa dan mempunyai ruang meletak kenderaan di bahagian bawah.
Tambahnya, melalui projek ini, ISI akan membantu arkitek dalam penjanaan tenaga suria, penggunaan air hujan, pengudaraan semula jadi yang optimum dan memaksimumkan pencahayaan semulajadi serta kecekapan akustik.
Katanya, masjid hijau yang akan siap sepenuhnya penghujung 2013 itu dijangka menjadi contoh reka bentuk masjid yang beridentitikan Johor, moden, mesra alam serta jimat tenaga.
"Selain memberi tumpuan kepada unsur reka bentuk yang responsif kepada alam persekitaran, ISI merancang menggunakan projek ini sebagai platform untuk mempelopori satu model penilaian kualiti bangunan masjid yang berlandaskan sunah," katanya lagi.
